So, Kendall Jenner appears on the May issue of Vogue India to celebratethe magazine’s 10th anniversary, and people can’t handle it.
Twitter reaction swung between displeased and amused as the images of Jenner, shot by celebrity fashion photographer Mario Testino, started surfacing online.
Some have touted Jenner’s presence on the cover as “cultural hegemony” and are dissing Vogue for not getting “deserving Indian models” to mark the occasion.
Jenner makes a solo appearance on the cover, but Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput appears alongside her in the photo spread.
Shot in the royal backdrop of Jaipur’s Sambodhe Palace, Jenner stuns in a lacy Saint Laurent outfit. Though this isn’t her first international cover for Vogue, it’s shaping up to be the most talked about.
Others had a laugh at the expense of her high-fashion style poses. “Finally revealed: Kendall Jenner had come to India for her lower back pain treatment,” one user wrote.
Here are some of the reactions.
